Surya Hot Flow - Level 1

This class is taught by:

Gagan Bhutani

Gagan has been teaching Hot Yoga since 2002. His classes focus on an Asana practice which is accessible to beginners and advanced beginners. He uses verbal cues and hands on corrections to help his students build and safe and strong personal practice.

Daba Briggs

Daba came to yoga over a decade ago to balance out soccer and running. She describes her classes as mindfully aligned and aims at making poses accessible for every body and every level. Daba brings humor and lightness to her classes while leading you in a safe and challenging practice.

She has also completed training programs in pre-natal & post-natal yoga; currently studies Iyengar and structural yoga with her mentor and teachers Nikki Costello and Alison West; and studies gentle/restorative yoga. She is blessed to share yoga in the community every day.

Daba studies and draws some of her inspiration from her many yoga instructors, yoga students, everyday life and her little dog Chuy.

Megan Eaton

Megan began practicing yoga in Indiana, over 10 years ago. What began as a simple weekly routine to relieve pain from a former injury turned into much more. After moving to New York City, her practice turned into a deeper, daily exploration of herself. It was during that time, she discovered her true passion, to give this practice to others.

In December of 2014 she completed her first teacher training and has been sharing what she learned ever since. Megan holds a 200-hour vinyasa certification, a restorative certification, and is in the process of earning her 500-hour advanced teaching certificate. She truly believes that yoga is a practice and is always yearning to learn and discover more.

Angela Rauscher

Angela has been practicing yoga and living a yoga lifestyle for over 15 years. She is a 500hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher, receiving her yoga teacher certification and Let Your Yoga Dance® certification from the Kripalu School of Yoga, and her professional level yoga leadership certification from Shakti Initiation in Bali, Indonesia.

Although Angela initially started practicing yoga to heal physical injuries from a bad car accident, she soon discovered the healing power of yoga extended from body, to mind and spirit, on and off the mat. To Angela, yoga is more than asana practice (the postures); it has been, and continues to be, a life changing journey and commitment to her true self.

Angela creates a mood in each class, weaving her knowledge of the energy systems of the body (the chakras) with thematic yogic philosophy, original sequencing, breathing techniques, mantra and meditation. She believes in the philosophy that yoga should meet your body where it is now, and that yoga is a practice of inquiry and consciousness, unique to each individual. Her classes are spiritually driven, infused with compassion, encouragement and support, offering a safe space for students to explore and discover their personal edge.

Angela is committed to helping people live life to their highest potential and feels blessed to be able to support others on their yoga journey. She has been studying Buddhism for the past 5 years, and continues to study and practice yoga on and off the mat, on a daily basis.

Justin Randolph

An actor, singer, yoga teacher, and Reiki Master Practitioner and teacher; Justin's artistic and nurturing spirit not only helps him on the stage and in front of the camera, but also on the mat.   After years of practicing yoga, Justin wanted to find a way to give back and share the healing experience of yoga with others. Justin received his 200 hour Vinyasa training in NYC at Three Sisters Yoga, and is currently under scholarship for the 500 hour Vinyasa training with Three Sisters Yoga with a focus on "radical self care." Justin also is a certified Yin Yoga Teacher. Justin's passion is making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age and physical ability.   In Justin's class you will experience an alignment based practice, with a freedom to explore and make each posture your own. Passionate about service Justin has served as volunteer to incarcerated youth at Rikers Prison, and serves as yoga teacher yearly at Camp Erin; a bereavement camp for children and adults who have experienced a close loss.

Arielle Gamza

Arielle Gamza is a certified Vinyasa teacher, completing her 200 hour certification at Pure Yoga NYC. In addition to Vinyasa training, Arielle has also completed training in Therapeutic and Restorative yoga.

Through her teaching, Arielle believes that yoga is for every body regardless of age, shape or size. She hopes to make everyone feel great about themselves; give that gift to people through yoga, in the same way yoga gave her that same gift.
This class is a great introduction to Hot Vinyasa Flow. It's a great class for an introduction to Hot Yoga. Class includes basic forward and backward bending poses, twists, basic flows, lunges and basic inversions.
